Is this an Ahhh Moment

Here is a moment I captured....wasn't easy because she is far from the best subject for the camera...most of the time I think she knows and turns her head at the last minute.....she really needs a haircut but she is so fluffy and lovable when she looks like this......can you tell that she is his favorite.....

Back from Vacation on to CE

Just wrote this extremely long post concerning CE and lost every bit of it....so right now I am going to leave typepad and come back another day......hopefully with pictures of the projects.

Day 16 {August 31st - Castaway Cay}

This place is freakin' awesome....I can now understand why people say they take Disney cruises just to come to this island....we got off the ship and we were headed for Serenity Bay which is the adult beach....we ended up sidetracked when John wanted to take a Glass Bottom boat ride....it was great until we got out there and it started to downpour....now you know us by now....we love the rain....everyone else was freaking out and heading for the middle of the boat....oh gimme a break people it is just water...you have bathing suits on - deal with it.  Well then it subsides a bit but all that happened with seeing the fish were they threw some food off the side of the boat and a ton of fish, of course, showed up and they did this twice more and then we left.....whoopie....

We got back on land - had a couple of pictures taken with Mickey and Goofy....checked out the stores and purchased of course a few things....had those shipped back to the ship....nice feature and we headed for the beach.  The sand was so soft and the water was great.....we hung out and just enjoyed for about an hour and half or so and then it was time to walk over to where we would get our jetskis....

Love these things....had a blast even though there were a couple of times that I thought I was going to dump myself right into the ocean....never happened though.  We rode these for about a hour and half and went probably 5 miles or so on them.....it was awesome to slow way down and then when a wave was coming gas it and go flying into the air and come down into the water.  So want one of these...of course, I don't think that the lake would be as much fun.....just like riding a motorcycle on water.....

The only problem I encountered from the jetskis was I went expecting to wear my shoes and they told us that we didn't have to if we didn't want to so of course I took mine off....well the tops of my feet have paid for that little slip.....never occurred to me that my feet would be exposed to the Bahamian sun.....it was worth it though.

Boarded the ship after having some lunch due to I had postcards that I wanted to mail out from Castaway Cay and they had originally told me the post office wouldn't be open and it was.....

We had a really nice casual dinner at sea and they did the Baked Alaskan show which was quite impressive.....decided though I am not a huge Baked Alaskan fan.....

Tomorrow is leave day....should be a hustle bustle type day...have to have our luggage out by 11 tonight....shouldn't be a problem though.

Day 15 {August 30th - Sea Day}

Today we went and listened to the DVC presentation…..we are seriously thinking about joining this….as much as we go to Disney it would be worth it but the other thing is that you can travel anywhere you want basically…use your points to take another cruise, travel around the World, take Disney’s Adventure Tours….John is already eyeing one that takes us to Williamsburg, Philadelphia and Washington DC

 

We also went to see Goofy’s Boat Bash…..the little boy who sits at the table next to ours has been collecting wine corks to make his boat unsinkable so we were there to see how he did….some of these boats are amazing…I took a couple of pictures so I will upload them….one was built completely out of legos….two of the boats looked like exact replicas of the Magic….his boat didn’t sink and was 1 of 5 to survive….they put them all in the pool and gave those poor boats a workout let me tell you….the cast member jumped in the pool and then all the kids sat around the pool and kicked their feet…then the cast member got out of  the water and did like a cannonball back into the water trying to get them to sink…..well out of probably 20 only 5 made it and from that they selected 3 winners and unfortunately Brandon’s wasn’t one of them.  He was so proud of his boat though….he brought it to dinner to show everyone….he made sure to explain to us that where he put the corks were his stabilizers….the kid is only 7…what a great imagination. 

 

We also played Bingo twice today….the jackpot had not been won yet so we played in the morning….didn’t win a thing but of course, we couldn’t not go to the big giveaway that afternoon…..the jackpot was won by one person and it was$28,640.00….incredible…talk about a great way to cap off your trip and pay for it as well…..especially that wonderful bill that they give you at the end of the trip after you have used that magic little card for 15 days.

 

Dinner tonight was Formal Night….the Captain’s Gala.  Woo Hoo lobster on the menu again tonight.  We were in Luminere’s for this meal.  I actually put on a dress and heels….no hose though…way too warm for that.  Chip ‘n Dale came by while we were eating and they were in their tuxes and did a little comedy act outside the window….they are so much fun on the cruise. 

Day 14 {August 29th - Sea Day}

Aargghhh….mateys….it was a Pirate’s Life last night….some of the costumes that folks wore were simply amazing.  It was probably 70/30 split on who dressed up and who didn’t.  Some of the little kids were quite adorable.  We were dressed up and had our pictures taken with Pirate Mickey and Captain Jack Sparrow, which in my opinion was not as good as the Captain Jack that they have at

Disneyland

…..I never saw the one at WDW so I don’t know about him.  We were alone for our dinner….our table mates went to Palo’s…another reason that we need to take another cruise…didn’t make it up there this trip, of course I didn’t pack a suit jacket for John and that is required for that restaurant.

By the time we got through with dinner it was past 9:45 p.m. so instead of going up to the deck party which we figured was going to be so extremely packed – we went back to the room and watched the fireworks from our verandah….it was very cool…..

Crew Talent Show was great…they kinda did a combination of American Idol and Dancing with the Stars (crew officers)….the cruise director Christian did the last dance and they did disco – it was him paired with a passenger on the ship…they did very well together.  The other dances were Jitterbug and Waltz….they all did a fabulous job – Don Ducky Williams did the Waltz.  Then there were some of the crew that did acts….one of the guys did a song…guess he actually tried out for American Idol but in his own country, one lady juggled and did a  spectacular job…..she even took a chaise lounge and balanced it on her chin for the finale. 

Tomorrow is another Sea Day….these are great days….I could almost imagine doing a cruise just for a couple of these.
