While we were on the Disney cruise there were of course, pins that could be purchased....I didn't pay much attention to this whole thing since I'm not big into the pin trading craze....I have some pins but they mean something to me but have never bought them just for the sake of doing the whole pin trading thing. Well while at dinner the last night, our tablemates were discussing the pins that they had for the trip....well they informed me that I needed to go get these....that they were very detailed and gorgeous. I thought they had to be ordered prior to taking the cruise.....nope they had extras. So after dinner I made my way to the front of the ship and down a few levels to pick them up....I was really pleased with them and then they also handed me several placemat size maps that could be used with them. So I figured that we could get these framed and it would end up being a nice little reminder of our trip. Here are the pictures of the finished product......I love the way it came out.
Spent yesterday with good friends....we were suppose to scrap but we hadn't seen each other in a while so it turned into a talking session.....lots of laughs....good for the soul you know. Once one of them left to get some sleep.....she hadn't been to bed yet.....this is a whole nother story.....I got started with making another CJ and it is about my love of Disney........used a technique that I learned at Creative Escape and really liked how it came out........ Ardeth did the letters for me....sanded, painted and Stickled them......I'm really loving the looks of this.....still have some finishing touches to go but might have this puppy done by the end of the evening.......here is one of my pages......I grabbed this idea from another scrapbooker that I was in a CJ with a couple of years ago......still need to add the journaling but somehow this picture just speaks for itself.

Last Sunday morning I went to take a shower and looked down.....hmmm that is odd....what is that? Pulled up the non-slip mat to find a 12" crack in the tub....thru and thru.....well of course John came to the rescue with the duct tape!!!!! No joking....the duct tape is only covering the crack....no extra.....told you it was big.......well that solution was only for Sunday and Monday morning.....we called a friend of ours that is a General Contractor, gave us a bid and the next day the construction started......we had to move everything to the front shower.....which has been used maybe a dozen times and that is stretching it.....it was nice though cuz John moved our wonderful shower head into that shower......so we had some luxury!
Tuesday contruction....... pull out the old shower....and leave it on the front lawn for the day......doesn't look anything like it did on the "water closet" area......
Here is the crack in the tub from the backside........it looks a LOT bigger on this side.....must have been just on the edge for some time.
But I'm kinda glad that it broke....cuz look what we have now.....I will take another picture without all the construction going on but the light isn't right for me to go in there right now.
Love the new walls and love the fact that it is now just a walk in shower.....that it doesn't move under your feet.....that John won't have any problem getting in and out of it.....that the bottom isn't so slick that you think one wrong step and you are going to land on your you know what......that believe it or not it makes that room actually look bigger........
Steve and his guys did a fantastic job......you would have never known while the construction was going on that anything was happening.....their construction area was cleaned up every night and put into the shower area so that you could still use the restroom if you needed to.....they didn't leave any pieces and parts when they left to picked up later either. We are now going to work on a few more home projects that have just gone by the wayside.....going to fix the screen door so it fits the door correctly, fix the wall in the laundry area, fix the cabinet under the sink, replace the facia board on the front of the house and most likely the last project at this point anyway......move the microwave to above the stove......we will lose two cabinets in the kitchen but unless you are Michael Jordon you can't reach them without a step stool anyway.......
Kudos to John for using my Canon Rebel to take these pictures....I think he did a dang good job for not really being the photog of the family.....and I wasn't home to do it - I was thrilled that he took as many as he did.....and thought about taking the pictures of the tub in pieces. By the time they got close to being done.....they had the contractors trained as well.....they would walk out and let him know that he should come in and take a couple more pictures......
