I am still training for my 1/2 marathon.....and some days are great and others...not so much! Yesterday was one of those GREAT days.....only had time for a little bit of training due to some other commitments....so we went out and did 1.11 miles......now I know that doesn't seem like much....but for me it was pretty huge....I ran the entire way....which means I ran a MILE....OMG....if you would have told me a year ago that I would be doing this I would have busted out laughing......I was really happy with myself.....I know that I have a long way to go for that 13.1 miles but being able to do ONE mile is a great feeling.....and the scary thing is that I'm actually starting to like it......I find that my legs want to quit sooner then the rest of me.....which is good and bad....because I'm pretty bull headed in some regards....and reaching goals that I have set for myself is one of those bull headed areas.....so if my legs decide that they are through and the rest of me doesn't.....well that means that I could conceivable end up "Splat on the blacktop" and seriously....that wouldn't be pretty for anyone involved.....thankfully my legs haven't given up until we are pretty close to home.....so with moving forward....need to start considering a gym that I can get into relatively cheap so I can treadmill run since we are suppose to hit 90 this weekend.....and I can't seem to get my act together until about 9:30 or so to get outside......but we are moving right along with baby steps......
