D-Back Game

Went to the D-Back game the other night.....they have started something new called the "Legends Race" which includes Matt Williams, Randy Johnson, Mark Grace and Gonzo.....here is what they look like running down the first base line....

 In this race Randy Johnson won the race....which is hilarious if you ever saw him run the bases for real.  Last nights game.....Gonzo came in on top....Gracie was actually ahead by a long shot but stopped to give Manny Ramirez some grief because at this race Manny had thrown a towel at Gracie.....Manny was interesting absent when he stopped.....and then today Matt Williams won the race while Gracie stopped to silly string Manny Ramirez....hmm could of thought of something better than that to get even with him......but then that wouldn't be a friendly way to deal with Manny now would it.

We were at the game last night...a complete blow-out....but on a high note...I did get a Mark Reynolds signed baseball.....so that makes 3 that I have now.....Randy Johnson, Brandon Webb and Mark Reynolds.  Going to Gonzo's charity fund raiser next weekend...hoping to get his autograph on a ball as well.....

Thinking in this new group of players that this guy will have to be my favorite

this would be Chris Synder.....one of our great catchers!

Hopefully with new management this team can start producing a little bit - no a lot better than they have been in the last year and a half.
 

 

Too Funny

We needed to clean out the filter for the pool yesterday....well the best way to clean the filters is to spray them off......we have two cockers who believe that it is there job to ATTACK the hose....so instead of leaving them in the house and listening to them try to come thru the arcadia door we decided that they could just stay out there with us....I mean seriously it was hot enough that they would dry in a matter of minutes.......before......

AFTER

and this one...decided to take a swim in the pool....we didn't even hear her go in but turned around about the time she was climbing out, so at least she is able to get herself out which is good to know

 
 
 
 

Grand Canyon

A few weeks ago we made a trip up to the Grand Canyon........I know that a lot of people think that this is just a big hole but all I see is gorgeous every time we go!  We went into the East entrance and worked our way to the Village - which was packed.....

Desert View Tower....I actually went up to the top inside.......it is really spectacular......

we could see the Colorado River from almost every point we stopped at....it was a gorgeous blue-green color.....had never seen it that color before

And then just driving to the next point....these guys were hanging out having some lunch.....I could of stayed there all day watching them.....

These animals are so majestic....can't imagine doing anything but shooting them with a camera......

We headed back home and encountered this as we got closer to Flagstaff....unfortunately one of many fires to happen in that area in the next few weeks.....

This was the Eagle Rock Fire which was just north of Williams and by the time they got it contained it had burned over 1,000 miles of forest....over 60 houses were evacuated but thankfully none burned due to the awesome firefighters we have here.
